The Dis Dame Donc association was created in 2018 by women who have been affected by various female pathologies. What they all have in common: the feeling of not having been sufficiently supported by the medical profession. With the help of medical staff and specialists, the association offers free support, but also resources and information offered in the form of workshops or conferences (in person in or by video) for women who are experiencing it. the need.

Menopause, endometriosis, breastfeeding…

The association has chosen to specialize in three themes: menopause (and pre-menopause), endometriosis and breastfeeding. Three subjects which are “made taboo by society” in one way or another according to Jenna, co-founder of the association.
This is for example the case of endometriosis which affects one in 10 women. Although it was recognized as a chronic disease in 2022, affected women are generally diagnosed after 7 to 10 years. This is called medical wandering. The same goes for menopause and pre-menopause, the main problem of which is that they are little considered and, once again, taboo. From the age of 45, women can experience the symptoms of menopause (hot flashes, vaginal dryness, night sweats, etc.) and they can last until they are 60 years old.

Raise awareness among the general public

On the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week which took place from October 14 to 20, the association launched a major advertising campaign in . Throughout the city, passers-by could see posters showing a woman breastfeeding her baby in a cafe. A simple gesture, which is not always easy to accomplish in public places in . In order to make public establishments more accessible and inclusive for breastfeeding women, the association has created “solidarity buttons” to stick on their windows. This informs these women that a safe and welcoming place exists for them in this location.
