Reinforced control of prescriptions for medicines whose unit price, all taxes included (TTC), exceeds €300 is an obligation. This measure was put in place by Health Insurance in response to increasing amounts of trafficking, particularly involving particularly expensive oral chemotherapies.

In practice, if the pharmacist knows the patient or the prescriber, or if it is an electronic prescription, no special procedure is required. However, it is imperative that they write the words “Secure Delivery” on the prescription before scanning it into their billing software. In other situations, the pharmacist must conduct the investigation to determine whether the prescription is authentic or fraudulent. To do this, he uses a verification grid proposed in the Health Insurance brochure “How to check a prescription for expensive medications” (bit.ly/4hQkHdZ)*, to which other elements are added, such as possibly medical documents. available on My Health Space, or even a call or e-mail to the prescriber. It is also possible to use the Secure False Prescription Alert (Asafo) teleservice, available via Amelipro, to check if the prescription has already been identified as false. If the prescription is fraudulent, the pharmacist writes “Refusal to issue” and forwards the prescription to the primary health insurance fund. If further investigations are necessary, he issues the smallest possible package and writes “Temporary Delivery”.
