During the Mayors’ Show, Wednesday November 20, 2024, the community of communes of the Collines du Perche was named winner of the first Communities and Cancer Prevention Trophy, launched in 2024 by the National Cancer Institute. The jury chaired by Véronique Guillotin, senator, awarded the Prize for prevention in rural areas to the community of communes of Collines du Perche.
This trophy aims to promote, in the territories, the prevention of cancers and the promotion of health. The Centre-Val de Loire Regional Cancer Screening Coordination Center (CRCDC-CVL), a regional structure in charge of organizing cancer screenings in close collaboration with the community of communes of the Collines du Perche, organized at the Mondoubleau medical center, “A day of cancer prevention and screening, take responsibility for your health”. More than eighty people participated.
“Putting people back at the center of concerns”
The day was coordinated by Odile Capitaine, vice-president of the CCCP responsible for services to the population. The objective of this project is to encourage increased participation in breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screenings in the region.
It also aims to raise awareness among stakeholders in the medical-social sector, vulnerable people and to support those concerned in carrying out the screenings for which they are eligible.
