In 2023, the arrival of the two neurologists, doctors Marie Mermier and Ronan Thénault, made it possible to recreate a public urological activity at the Saint-Malo hospital center (Ille-et-Vilaine), in consultation, screening and urological surgery.
A service that is growing
A third surgeon, Dr Étienne Courboin, joined this team on November 4, 2024, after having worked at Rennes University Hospital in Fougères and providing ongoing care in Saint-Malo last year.

“The objective is to expand the service”, declares Ronan Thénault, with the upcoming arrival of a fourth urologist. “Activity, linked to an aging population, has increased, underlines Étienne Courboin. Also having a public healthcare offer makes us more visible. »
