Caussade. “A College of Toques”

Led by their French teacher, Muriel Bouvart, the 18 students from the theater workshop at Pierre-Darasse college, in Caussade, took to the main stage of the Espace Bonnaïs, late Monday afternoon, to present the fruit of their rehearsal work over the year, a series of sketches brought together under the evocative title of “A College of Crazy People”. Indeed, the plot takes place at Albert-Toquay college. It is a Monday in October, a tough day is ahead for Mr. Permont-Lathin, the principal, determined to hold Gaspard Witt accountable, the assistant who is always out of work rather than at his post. The scenes take place alternately in the principal’s office or in other places: the school life or stewardship office, in the classroom. Of course, any resemblance to existing characters is purely coincidental! Moreover, even the principal of the Pierre-Darasse college (the real one!), Jean-Marc Sauvage, lent himself to the game in a role of total composition by interpreting Mr. Houssa, father of the student David Houssa, a role which, however, seemed to be inspired by real-life situations… Still, the public greatly appreciated these interpretations of students in the roles of Ms. Paite-Sèque, Latin teacher; Miss Anna Taumy, SVT teacher; Mrs. Decker, mathematics teacher; Ms. Pinaille, mother-in-law of Jessyline Gourdette, student, and her classmates, Medhi, Lucia, Alexandre, Jordenzo, without forgetting to mention Jean Peuplu, educational assistant, or Ms. Lapoint, steward. The middle school students took great pleasure in performing on stage, and for the encore at the end of the show, of course, the public applauded Mr. Houssa and his son David.

A big congratulations to all the college students involved and their teacher!
