Father, husband, brother, partner, son… It is for men and their specific illnesses that the local branch of the League Against Cancer is offering, this Friday, November 22, at 9 p.m., a solidarity cabaret concert .
“After the numerous activities of Pink October, during which there was a lot of talk about women and breast cancer, we wanted to position ourselves, for this 2024 edition, on an event for the health of “our men”explains Catherine de Toledo, head of the League’s Lunel branch. For several years, November has been male cancer screening awareness month. Except that it is little known and known to the population. This animation will therefore also provide information on this action.”
A first in Lunel which could be sustained
For this first in Lunel, which the Lunel office of the League hopes to integrate into its calendar of annual events, the choice fell on a cabaret concert of gypsy jazz and swing with the Drom Blanchard trio, enriched that evening with a violinist and the voice of Lady Scott, already welcomed by the League during Pink October 2022.
With the support of its partners – City, Agglo, territorial professional health community (CPTS) Pays de Lunel, Rotary Montpellier Etang de l’Or and some private individuals – and feedback and suggestions from the public who had attended a similar event during Blue Mars, the local branch of the League has expanded its offering and will offer, in addition to the show, plates of tapas, pastries and a refreshment bar.
