#toxicexports: France in court

Why CCFD-Terre Solidaire and the Veblen Institute are attacking the State.

Despite a ban passed in 2018within the framework of the Egalim law, the French government continues to authorize the export each year of several thousand tonnes of toxic pesticide substances banned in the European Union.

Nearly 7,300 tonnes in 2023!

Banned to protect the health of European farmers and consumers as well as ecosystems, these substances are flooding the countries of the South with disregard for the health and environment of their populations.

The absurdity does not stop there, because re-imports these same substances, in the form of residues in food products from these same countries.

These products end up on our platesthus exposing us to substances which are nevertheless banned in the European Union for their toxicity.

Faced with this health scandal, the CCFD-Terre Solidaire and the Veblen Institute, accompanied by the Intérêt à Agir association, contacted the Council of State to demand an end to these toxic exports.
