700,000 people in France do not know that they are diabetic
In France, more than 4 million people were suffering from diabetes in 2022. The prevalence of this chronic disease has continued to increase, from 5.6% in 2015 to 6.30% in 20,221.
In France, the peak prevalence of diabetes is between 80 and 84 years of age in men (26.11%) and women (18.11%).
In addition, diabetes mainly affects men with 55.2% compared to 44.8% of women.
In addition to disparities in age, territory or gender, diabetes also results in social inequalities in health. Several studies have proven that people in socially vulnerable situations are more affected by diabetes.
Finally, diabetes can lead to serious consequences ranging from injuries to the breakdown of the kidneys, to problems healing wounds or cardiovascular complications.
Meet in the main reception hall of Montauban hospital and on level -1 in the gynecology consultation department this Thursday, November 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
