Growing a mustache to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancers and men’s mental health is what Movember is all about. For the occasion, Philippe Uystepruyste, urologist at the Epicura Hospital in Hornu, composed a song to encourage screening.

In 2022, Philippe shared a musical model on his Facebook profile. Two years later, he improved it and created The Movember song,” an anthem for the month of Movember. The objective of Philippe’s song is to raise awareness of male pathologies but above all to raise funds, which he will donate to the Movember foundation at the end of the month.

Through his composition, the urologist-musician also hopes to highlight the movember movement. Still little known compared to its female counterpart: Pink October. Under the guise of humor, Philippe also wants to break the taboo around screening among men.

“The Movember Song” was posted on November 1st on all platforms and currently has just over 4,000 plays. Encouraging figures, which Philippe hopes to multiply by the end of the month.
