At the age of 18, Jenna Gestetner was diagnosed with mast cell activation syndrome, a condition that causes too many chemicals to be released into the body.
In her case, the syndrome means she has more than 100 allergies.
In a TikTok video, viewed more than 7.5 million times since its publication on October 23, we see Gestetner trying to explain to the waiter that she had “a lot of allergies” and that the only dish she could afford had to be as simple as possible, without accompaniments or garnishes.
The establishment was finally able to comply with the specific requests of the TikToker, serving her a portion of fish cooked in olive oil.
The 21-year-old Californian with 48,000 TikTok subscribers can only eat a dozen foods, including certain fish, turkey, green beans, zucchini, cucumber, lime, dates, grapes, raspberries, pears, chia seeds and water lilies and olive oil.
