Jean-Marie Tilly, do you recommend that your patients get the Covid vaccine?
I only recommend it to those in vulnerable populations, i.e. the elderly and those who are not in perfect health. It’s not superfluous. We saw a lot of cases of Covid in September, it is a disease that is very tiring and causes persistent coughs. This virus can even make young people tired for a long time. They also have the possibility of being vaccinated.
The vaccine does not prevent you from catching it…
No, but it reduces the risk of catching it. And when you catch it anyway, its effects are much less intense. The vaccine helps avoid complications, that’s the most important thing.
Should you get vaccinated when you contracted Covid a few months earlier?
The current campaign vaccine is different from the previous one. It is adapted to the majority variants likely to circulate this winter. Hence the interest in doing it again. The flu vaccine is also different every year and everyone finds it normal to do it again every year. I know that some people don’t really want to be vaccinated against Covid, I encourage them to do it anyway if they present a greater than average risk of developing complications.
