The Charpennes hospital (Hospices Civils de ) and the CNRS Institute of Cognitive Sciences launched a study on Parkinson’s disease at the end of 2023. It focuses on the expression of the 5-HT4 serotonergic receptor, strongly expressed in the basal ganglia in macaques, as demonstrated by the CNRS. It is therefore relevant to study it in humans in order to pave the way for new potential therapeutic avenues.

After a first inclusion phase, in June 2024, the Charpennes hospital is once again looking for participants: men and women, aged 50 to 85, with Parkinson’s disease that has been present for 2 to 8 years or without significant illness. for voluntary subjects. Two visits are planned for volunteers and 3 visits for patients, in a maximum of 60 days, at the Charpennes hospital, 27 rue Gabriel Péri in and at Cermep, 59 bd Pinel in . Will be carried out: a neurological and neuropsychological clinical assessment; a brain MRI, a PET scan and a blood test for genetic polymorphisms. Compensation of €150 is provided as well as compensation for transport costs.
