This Saturday, October 19, Hubert Delpech presented his latest book, The Contemporary Edile Trade, in front of his loyal friends. A memoir book which transparently details his life as a municipal elected official from 1989 to 2001 and above all, where he does not forget his elected colleagues who accompanied him throughout these years. In this work, we are far from the three other Books, which recounted the course of his personal and professional life.
In this memoir book, he reveals to us the journey of the first person in charge of a municipality, how, thanks to the prudent management of previous mayors, he was able to invest and give another face to the municipality of Astaffort. He perfectly describes the importance of the deputies and advisors who followed him throughout this period and thanks to these exchanges, not always very calm but exchanges are necessary to be able to move forward, the Music'Halle saw the light of day, as well as the Bourdette retirement home. How he knew how to benefit from the wisdom of Francis Cabrel, this taciturn person who brought good advice and good remarks that were always very relevant. He quickly explains why he found himself in the Aquitaine Region as a regional advisor and how he managed to cope with these two elected positions. A fascinating book, superbly argued with beautiful period photos and authentic documents.
