As part of the week dedicated to eating disorders, Nathalie Bourgeois, vice-president of the Solidarité anorexie et bulimie 56 association, organized a morning of discussions with professionals and people interested in EDs (eating behavior disorders). , in order to answer questions and create connections, at the Maison des Associations, Saturday 1st in Vannes.

Women… but also men

“I didn’t expect to welcome so many people,” confides Nathalie, art therapist and peer helper. In fact, 90 people responded to his invitation: professionals, participants in the discussion group set up every month in Vannes, parents of children suffering from TCA sometimes coming from far away (Quimper, Deux-Sèvres, etc.) . “I had to refuse professionals,” regrets Nathalie Bourgeois. A large majority of women were present, but also a few men, because “this disorder affects more and more men”, specifies Emie Pecquais, dietitian nutritionist.

Of hope and keys

Round tables for professionals, as well as sophrology and meditation workshops, were offered to registrants who asked many questions: “How do you know if you are hungry? What if we have reached satiety? “. “A very interesting morning of exchanges and sharing for both patients and professionals,” says a healthcare professional in the guestbook. “A morning rich in emotions which gave hope and keys to moving towards recovery”, welcomes the organizer.
