Enhanced continuing education
All existing doctors are committed to continuing education. As explained by Dr Swerts, head of the emergency department of the CHC Hermalle and Heusy Clinics, this training is provided via three routes: transmission of international literature, simulation workshops organized by Nicolas Hansroul, head nurse of emergency service in Heusy, and privileged contacts currently being developed with various references in the field. “Therefore, even if they are not all doctors trained specifically in emergency medicine, they have the skills to handle frequent clinical situations. The most complex situations will be managed jointly with specialized medical resources.
