Castanet-Tolosan. Blood, at the heart of public health

A few days ago, the forum “Health meetings in South East Toulouse” was held in Castanet, an event organized at the initiative of Sicoval. Representatives of several organizations such as the local mission, two agents from the CPAM (who introduced the Améli site and gave information on the creation of the health file), the municipal mutual mutual Actiom de Castanet, Cocagne Alimentaire, kitchen activities including idea was to encourage better consumption and which also offered excellent preparations, as well as other partners such as Caf or Secours populaire were present to inform and inform the public.

Some curious and interested people came to the “Blood donation” stand, met the volunteers and received information about blood donation. In the end, three people will come and donate blood during the next blood drive which will be held on Tuesday May 21, Salle du Lac, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.; “It’s enriching to meet other future partners” explains Françoise Sajus.

Each year, the month of May is a sensitive period for the French Blood Establishment because the many public holidays that make it up mean fewer collection days.

At the same time, the need for transfusions remains high: the level of blood sampling must therefore remain regular and constant. With 4 public holidays in the month, at least 4,000 blood bags will not be able to be collected. In order to best anticipate the decline in these blood product reserves, regular donors and new donors are invited to make an appointment now for the next collection.

The French Blood Establishment needs everyone, so all hands on deck in May! Before and during the weekends, consider making a donation! For more information, do not hesitate to consult the website dondesang.efs.sante.fr

Some reminders or recommendations before and after the donation: do not fast and drink well before and after, be between 18 and 70 years old, weigh more than 50 kg and not have been transfused.
