According to the results of this research, led by Vivian Liu, eating a primarily plant-based diet can reduce the risk of disease progression by almost half. To make this observation, scientists followed 2062 men with prostate cancer for an average of 6.5 years after their diagnosis. The researchers found that among men who consumed mainly plant products, their risk of disease progression fell by 47%, compared to those who ate less. However, Vivian Liu specifies that to benefit from this protection, it is not necessary to be strictly vegetarian.
