It is within the framework of the great national cause 2024 Sport, Health and Well-being that Bernard Dinnat, president of the Departmental Youth, Sports and Community Engagement Committee, presented a Golf putting kit to the Foyer de Monié de l'Adapei, in the presence of Jacques Lansalot, president of Harmonie Mutuelle and partner of the operation. A partnership between two associations sharing a common vision: promoting the benefits of adapted sport for people with disabilities and dependent people, for their health and well-being.
This activity promotes social interactions, while requiring precision and concentration, and can even give rise to stimulating challenges between residents. Obviously, the golf putting kit can be practiced inside establishments, thanks to a putting mat, putters as well as soft balls which allow playing indoors without any risk for residents. This is done by involving teachers in adapted physical activities (EAPA) who take their place in a personalized project by providing, through the practice of adapted physical activity, the development or maintenance of autonomy and quality of life, thus contributing to support in socio-cultural areas. A role that fits into the general project of developing living spaces.
For some residents, former golfers or those with a minimum of practice, the experience allowed them to revive memories, get back in control of the putter and test their skills. For others, this initiation offered the discovery of an enriching recreational game, conducive to the development of balance, concentration and coordination.
For Philippe Oriol, president of Adapei, “The “golf putting practice” activity for people with disabilities is fun; it offers adjustable difficulties and it is friendly because it facilitates exchanges and sharing while requiring skill. precision…”.
-This initiative will also give facilitators the opportunity to encourage people to adopt this sport in their regular activities.
