Currently in the midst of rehabilitation in Biarritz and Arcangues, Julien Brun, who had surgery on his left wrist on September 23 following a stress fracture, is counting on a return to competition at the beginning of February. Maybe at the Qatar Masters, more certainly in Kenya two weeks later…

He no longer played the slightest trick on the DP World Tour since the Volvo China Openat the very beginning of May. About to start the Soudal Open a few days later, Julien Brun had finally had to withdraw at the last moment from the tournament, victim of a fatigue bill in his left wrist (Editor’s note, fracture of the hamulus of the hamatatum).
He subsequently attempted a return in mid-August on the Pro Golf Tour then on a local tournament in the Czech Republic, “ to test yourself » but the test did not prove really conclusive. With death in his soul, the Frenchman then had to resolve to have an operation on September 23 near Prague, de facto jeopardizing his end of the 2023-24 financial year on the European Tour.
He’s just refinishing the woods and the driver…
In possession of a category 10a and a medical exemption allowing him to start 14 tournaments this season, Julien Brun is currently in full rehabilitation. For three weeks now, he has been refining his “return” to Biarritz, not far from his technical and long game coach, Olivier Léglise. Robin Cocqhis performance and short game coach, also came to see him in the Basque country while the former student of Texas Christian University is just beginning its recovery with woods and other drivers in Arcangues, with the same Olivier Léglise.
The date of his return still remains unclear but the Antibois resident in the Czech Republic hopes to be “operational” at the beginning of February.
« I think that in February I will be able to play competitively againhe admits to us. Around the Qatar Masters (February 6-9) or for Magical Kenya Open (February 20-23), that would be much more reasonable. Since May, I must have only played about ten times, that’s all. I was stopped completely for four months, between my first convalescence and the second… And when I started again, I relapsed quickly… From there to leaving again in January and telling myself that I’m going to play well again and perform right away , that seems a bit utopian to me. Afterwards, in golf, you never know… »
