Royal Golf Dar Es Salam wins the 2nd edition of the Women’s Club Open

Royal Dar Es Salam won the second edition of the Women’s Club Open, held Saturday and Sunday at the Noria Golf Club in Marrakech with the participation of 72 players representing 12 clubs.

Royal Golf Dar Es Salam obtained 218 points ahead of The Tony Jacklin Casablanca with 188 points, while third place went to Samanah Golf Club of Marrakech (72 points).

This sporting event was marked by strong competition between the participants, in particular the young players who demonstrated a good technical level which will help to strengthen women’s golf.

At the end of this competition, Raja Hasnaou, president of the women’s golf development commission at the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation (FRMG), praised the good conditions in which this second edition took place, noting that the tournament experienced strong competition between young talents and experienced players.

This tournament highlighted new talents, which confirms the effectiveness of the great work carried out by the FRMG under the presidency of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid.

In a statement to MAP, Tassnim Ismaili, from Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, welcomed this victory despite strong competition from many clubs with good players, noting that the good conditions in which the competition took place contributed to the success of this tournament.

For her part, Zineb Bougassa, from The Tony Jacklin Casablanc club, was delighted with her club’s second place against an experienced club, Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, noting that despite some difficulties, notably the wind during the first day, her club managed to gain positive points and occupy second position thanks to the efforts of all the players on the team.

This competition, reserved for women’s golf teams, saw the participation of 12 clubs, each made up of 6 players.

These are Royal Golf El Jadida, Palm Golf Casablanca, Noria Golf Club de Marrakech, Royal Golf Anfa Mohammedia, Royal Golf Dar Es Salam, The Tony Jacklin Casablanca, Samanah Golf Club de Marrakech, Royal Golf de Tanger, Golf de l ‘Océan d’Agadir, Club House Golf des Lacs de Saïdia, Casa Green Golf Club de Casablanca and Golf de Mogador d’Essaouira.

The Women’s Club Open, one of the most important 100% women’s competitions in the annual sporting calendar of the Royal Moroccan Golf Federation, is an event created by the FRMG in 2022 to promote and develop women’s golf in Morocco.
