Paralympic Games: How transport is trying to avoid saturation

The formidable pitfalls of public transport were generally overcome by the transporters during the Olympic Games which ended on August 11. All thanks to a lot of preparation work and an (exceptionally rewarded) mobilization of the agents. It is not certain that it will go so easily for the “second half”, the period of the Paralympics, from August 28 to September 8. In the middle of the back-to-school period and the return of employees in the Paris region to their jobs, the risks of blockages in the public transport system are always present.

For RATP and SNCF, the technical parameters are both very similar and different from previous events. Greatly lightening one of the scales, the Paralympic Games will be geographically tighter than their predecessors. The sporting events will this time be spread over “only” 17 sites, including 10 in Paris, plus 3 road events. By comparison, the August Olympics were spread over two weeks across 25 different sites, including 13 in the capital.
