Here’s one we didn’t think we’d find on Laeticia Hallyday’s Instagram feed anytime soon! The widow of the singer, who died at the end of 2017, posted a series of souvenir photos on the social network on Saturday, August 31, in honor of her daughter Jade, who celebrated her 20th birthday. In each photo, the young woman appears with her father and/or mother, and in one of them, her half-brother, David Hallyday, even appears.

Surprising fact for the former model who led a long legal battle over inheritance against her late husband’s first two children, David, born in 1966 from the union of singer Sylvie Vartan, and Laura, born from his marriage to Nathalie Baye in 1983. And yet, David Hallyday was granted a place in the eleventh photo of a series of sixteen photos of his father’s widow. We see him smiling alongside his two young half-sisters and Johnny and Laeticia Hallyday. This memory evokes the time before the family rift that followed the death of the Taulier, and which was concluded around a “final agreement” in 2020 with Laura Smet.

“The most beautiful adventure of my life”

However, in her long message for her daughter in the caption of the photos, Laeticia Hallyday ignores this era and is only love, nostalgia, and admiration at the memory of the first moments when her husband and she carried their daughter after her adoption in Vietnam in 2004. “Time has flown by so quickly and watching you grow up has been the most beautiful adventure of my life,” she wrote. “Your inner light, this quiet strength that lives within you, lights up the world around you, and I am infinitely proud of everything you have become.”

Laeticia Hallyday also talks about the death of Jade and Joy’s father and the feeling of “emptiness” that this mourning left in her and her daughters, then aged 13 and 9. “Today, I see you transformed by this ordeal, a woman of resilience and wisdom that overwhelm me,” the 49-year-old star confided about her eldest daughter. “You carry within you a legacy of love, and you spread it around you with a generosity that touches me deeply.”
