This bright and positive film about a little-known countryside will certainly bring people together, as did “Petit Paysan”, the Valois de diamant 2017. Let’s also bet that the swear word “twenty gods”, pronounced or not with an accent, will spread beyond the borders of the Jura! As for tasting Comté…

Such an emotional bike ride

Standing ovations at all the screenings and red eyes at the exit left no doubt: Mathias Mlekuz’s bike ride with his friend Philippe Rebbot deeply moved the festival-goers. This tribute, paid by an inconsolable father to his suicidal son, moved them as much as it made them smile and laugh. A true sharing rewarded by the Valois of the public. Especially since this unique itinerary in the footsteps of the deceased is led with great fluidity, which explains the Valois of the staging and the one also awarded to the music of Pascal Lengagne.

Mathias Mlekuz and Philippe Rebbot moved the public with their film “A bicyclette”.

Renaud Joubert

Finally, while the Valois for male acting went to Marco Luraschi for his sporty performance as a jockey in “Lads”, the one for female acting highlighted the virtuosity and plasticity of Mylène Mackay for her dual role in the very dialogued “Dis-moi pourquoi ces choses sont si belles” by Canadian Lyne Charlebois. The Valois for screenplay went to the original and well-directed but forgettable “Procès du chien” by Laetitia Dosch. Nothing, however, for the endearing “Barbès, little Algérie” (filmed in Barbes), nor for the grating, disturbing and thrilling “Rabia”.
