A little scare for the passengers of Air France flight AF6 that left Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle and was heading to New York. As spotted by Actu Paris, the Boeing 777-300ER, which had taken off at 2:01 p.m., was diverted after only 2 hours and 35 minutes of flight while it was over the Celtic Sea. According to our colleagues, the aircraft issued a code 7700, generally used “in case of distress, emergency and interception” of the flight. Originally, the flight was to be diverted to Brest, but ultimately returned to Roissy.

Air France did not provide any details, but according to information from the Air Live website, the plane returned to Paris for medical reasons concerning a passenger on board. The aircraft had to refuel before being able to take off again. As shown by real-time data from FlightAware, flight AF6 was able to take off again from Paris at 18:09. Currently in the air, it is expected this Tuesday at New York – John Fitzgerald Kennedy International Airport (JFK) at 18:45, local time.

A problem that seems minor, therefore, in contrast to the incidents encountered by Airbus, in particular the Cathay Pacific company in the last four days. In total, 48 flights on A330s and A350s were cancelled. At the end of August, Boeing had experienced a more serious incident. A tire of a Boeing 757, operated by the airline Delta Air Lines, had exploded in the hangar near the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. Two employees lost their lives and another was seriously injured. (…)
