Austin FC fell in a 1-0 defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday night at Q2 Stadium.

The biggest moment of the first half came just before halftime when Vancouver thought they had taken the lead through Ryan Gauld. A video review found a Whitecaps player offside during the play though, and the game remained scoreless.

The visitors eventually did go ahead in the 70th minute. Gauld laid the ball off for Pedro Vite at the edge of the penalty area, who hit a powerful shot into the side netting.

The Verde & Black pressed forward in search of an equalizer in the closing minutes but ultimately came up short on the night.
