The British musician Liam Payneformer boy band member One Directiondied Wednesday at the age of 31 in Argentina, Buenos Aires police announced.
According to a police statement, “Liam James Payne has died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Palermo”, a district of the Argentine capital.
He would present “very serious injuries” following his fall. Emergency services were reportedly called to the Casa Sur hotel at 5:04 p.m. local time and arrived seven minutes later, resulting in the man’s death.
Liam Payne was with Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik et Harry Styles one of the members of the boy band One Direction formed in 2010 and which was a dazzling success.
Never made official, the separation of the group was illustrated by a break in 2016 in their career.
An investigation into the causes of death has been opened.
