Anthony Edwards’ Bold NSFW Remark on Post Karl-Anthony Towns Era Aligns With Julius Randle’s Desires

Once Julius Randle suits up in the Wolves threads, then it’s safe to say that the team has entered the post-Karl-Anthony Towns era. But, before we could witness a fully fit Randle in the Timberwolves‘ lineup, the star power forward has already synced perfectly with Anthony Edwards. Tonight, the NBA world witnessed a much-anticipated action between the NY Knicks and Wolves after the blockbuster trade. The game had both warmth and heated drama, but it also ensured that the future of the Minnesota side was in the right hands.

Ant-Man had a stellar outing, dropping 31 points with 8-13 from the arc. However, the star shooting guard was left impressed with his new teammate’s performance. Donte DiVincenzo, who started the game today as PG, scored 15 points and 7 assists with 6-11 FG. Speaking of his performance after the game, Edwards said, “F**kin’ incredible. I don’t need the ball. You see it. I’m having fun, man. It’s fun to play with Donte… It’s fun as hell.

While Anthony Edwards enjoyed the game, witnessing Donte’s performance not as a scorer, Julius Randle also had a similar desire. In his latest interview with the New York Post, he said, “I’ve always liked to say I’m more of a passer than a scorer… That’s what I genuinely like to do. That’s how I grew up playing basketball.” Moreover, Randle also added how he had to move away from his playing style to fit into the Knicks’ requirements.

Above all, the big man seemed to have found a perfect place for his playing style with the Wolves. Randle revealed Chris Finch’s plans for him, saying, “Putting me in many different positions to play-make… Finch is moving me all over the floor, allowing me to be able to show that stuff. I’m excited about that.” This does nothing but hypes up the anticipation to witness the new Timberwolves offense.

What does Anthony Edwards feel about Julius Randle’s inclusion?

Over the last few years, Ant-Man and Karl-Anthony Towns had developed a brotherly bond during their time together at Minnesota. There were instances where the duo appeared in front of the press together, pulling each other’s legs. Above all, the duo made a massive impact on the court and, in fact, played an influential role in producing the Wolves’ best season in two decades.

And, just like that, the Wolves traded their trusted big man to the Knicks. In return, they added Julius Randle to the mix. There isn’t any doubt about Randle’s offensive impact on the court, who has consistently averaged 20+ points in the last few seasons. But it sure will take time for Edwards to develop a similar bond with his new partner.

Amid this uncertain situation, Edwards cleared the air with a statement after tonight’s game. He said, “I haven’t even got to play with Julius yet, so we see what that looks like.” So, it’s almost clear that the star guard is looking to take the court with Randle. The latest update from Chris Finch revealed that the fans can get the first glimpse of Randle before the preseason concludes. What do you think? Will the Julius Randle-Anthony Edwards duo work for the Wolves?
