Targeted by a tweet from LFI MP Aymeric Caron, writer Rachel Khan announced Tuesday evening October 7 that she had filed a complaint against the latter. “MP Caron’s comments are intolerable, for me, but also for all of us,” she wrote on X, accompanying her message with a screenshot of the tweet mentioned. “I therefore asked my lawyer to file a complaint with a civil claim for aggravated insult. Justice must not fail in the face of this type of hateful and dangerous message,” she concluded.
On the morning of October 6, Aymeric Caron retweeted Rachel Khan’s intervention on Europe 1, in which she took stock of Emmanuel Macron’s investment in the fight against anti-Semitism, judging it to be very poor compared to the seriousness of the elements that have been taking place for a year now. “Radio Mille Collines”, wrote Aymeric Caron in comment on this intervention.
An unbearable comparison for many
Radio Mille Collines was a Hutu propaganda tool, in service in 1994, at the time of the genocide of the Tutsi in Rwanda, on which calls for the massacre of the population were broadcast. On X, MP Caroline Yadan expressed her indignation. “Here we touch on the worst in politics: gratuitous hatred that is both racist and anti-Semitic. When talking about Mille Collines radio, Aymeric Caron knows what he is doing: his violence is unheard of”she regretted.
“In Rwanda, the Tutsis were considered by the Hutus as pests to be eliminated, exactly like the Jews by Hamas on that disastrous day of October 7. By practicing a total inversion of values, and by putting a new target on Rachel Khan’s back, this dark character sinks definitively into abjection. she tackled again.
Aymeric Caron had not yet made a comment on the morning of October 8.
