Be careful on the roads and at sea, if you have to leave your home this Tuesday, October 8. Météo- has placed the department on yellow alert for thunderstorms and rain-flooding.

Vigilance in place runs from 2 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Tuesday. It will last until 6 p.m. for storms.

Storm phenomena “potentially virulent risks affecting the PACA region”indicate the meteorological services. Which could, depending on the intensity, tip the department into orange vigilance. The entire PACA region will be affected by rain and strong storms.

In the morning it will be very rainy and stormy. Strong thunderstorms will circulate over Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur accompanied by fairly strong easterly winds.

Strong thunderstorms and potentially intense rain

In the Var, thunderstorms are expected early in the morning throughout the department.

In the afternoon, the entire west of the department will be affected by a risk of thunderstorms from Collobrières to Rians. Elsewhere, stormy showers are expected, from the coast to Trigance. In terms of temperatures, it will be 20°C along the entire Var coast and 15°C in Trigance.

In the evening, the stormy showers should evacuate towards Italy and the sun will return to the department.
