The atmosphere was a bit less relaxed than usual during the open training in Toulouse this Monday, September 30. The fault of the defeat conceded the day before against Bordeaux-Bègles (12-16), while Ernest-Wallon had not fallen for 33 matches.
Toulouse still without Antoine Dupont
The next match is a trip to Castres on Saturday October 5 (9:05 p.m.). And it will be still without Antoine Dupont.
While he had vacation until September 30, the international No. 9 is currently in the United States, where he was able to complete an immersion dive with the Los Angeles Chargers American football club.
It is said on Ernest-Wallon’s side that Antoine Dupont should return to the pink city at the end of the week and will resume afterwards.
Exams pending for Santiago Chocobares
Aligned during the 6 Rugby Championship matches, the Argentinians Juan Cruz Mallia and Santiago Chocobares return this Monday afternoon to Toulouse.
The second named is expected to take exams (Tuesday, Editor’s note), seriously injured in a knee during the last match against South Africa. Uncertainty remains regarding which ligament(s) are affected.
Mallia, who played all 6 Rugby Championship matches, will not be exposed for the match in Castres.
No damage after Bordeaux-Bègles
The good news is that Toulouse was not damaged after the defeat against Bordeaux-Bègles.
But the Rouge et Noir had recorded the injury to Jack Willis during training preceding the match. The Englishman was hit in the thigh. He is out of the match against Castres. His return could be for the visit of Clermont, or even probably the match in Pau.
Ntamack et Capuozzo on vacation
Having played 3 matches in full since the start of the season, Romain Ntamack is on vacation. He will therefore not be traveling to Castres.
Pierre-Fabre will also not see winger Ange Capuozzo. Present on the first 4 match sheets of the season, the Italian is also resting.
The Toulouse infirmary
On the Toulouse infirmary side, there are always a few people: Cyril Baille (fibula, return in December), Nepo Laulala (Achilles tendon), Alban Placines (knee), Valentin Delpy and Mathis Castro-Ferreira (sinus fracture). The latter resumed the race, but contact was prohibited.
Winger Setareki Bituniyata (thigh) is fully recovered. He participated normally in today’s training. The Fijian applies for the trip to Castres.
