“He’ll Always Be My James Bond”: Why Halle Berry Loves Pierce Brosnan – Movie News

In a recent video interview with Wired, Halle Berry said that Pierce Brosnan “restored her faith in men” while filming their James Bond movie, Die Another Day, in 2002. The action film marked Brosnan’s final appearance as 007 after a seven-year stint that began with GoldenEye in 1995. The actress, meanwhile, played Bond girl Jinx in the feature.

“He will always be my [James] Bond, always,” she said when asked about her experience on the film.I am a Pierce Brosnan fan. He restored my faith in men in this movie. There could not be a more gentlemanly human being than Pierce Brosnan.”

“Bond wasn’t on my wish list, no, even though I’ve always loved the movies.”, the actress continued. “After being in one of these, I feel like I’m part of cinema history. These films are iconic. They’re forever a part of our history, and I’m truly honored to have been a part of it, especially with Pierce.”

Jinx quickly became a favorite among James Bond fans so much so that the franchise’s producers, Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, had begun planning a spin-off film for her. Halle Berry. However, this did not happen.

“The plan was foiled when MGM got scared of the film’s $80 million budget. The move infuriated Broccoli. One of her main goals as 007’s manager was to rid herself of some of the jingoism that characterized Bond’s appearances in the novels and early films.,” Variety reported in 2020.

“It was very disappointing”, confided Halle Berry to the same post a little later about the loss of the Jinx-centric film.It was ahead of its time. Nobody was willing to invest that much money in a black female action star. They just weren’t sure of her value. That’s where we were at the time.”

Halle Berry is currently starring in the action film, The Unionalongside Mark Wahlbergto be discovered on Netflix. Die Another Day is, for its part, to be seen again on VOD.
