Chartres Association Fair: One more day to make your choice

Launched on Saturday, September 7 at 10 a.m., the association fair welcomes visitors until Sunday, September 8 at 6 p.m. Social, sports, culture, but also leisure or well-being… there is plenty to choose from.

José Rolo, deputy mayor in charge of sports, community life and youth, hoped to attract more than 8,000 visitors this weekend to the association fair. Even though the weather was not great on Saturday morning, September 7, the bet seemed to be off to a good start given the number of people who strolled around Place Châtelet and Butte des Charbonniers in the afternoon.

The Chartres association fair organized on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September: discover the complete list

With 182 associations from the Chartres area represented, visitors, whether young or old, are spoiled for choice when it comes to finding the activity that will occupy their free time this year. And to make sure they don’t make a mistake, they can try out field hockey on site, for example, or watch demonstrations of fencing, dancing or various martial arts.

Football or piano lessons?

Morgan, a resident of the Chartres area, came with his son, Axel, 7 years old, to discover the wealth of associations in Chartres. “I look for an activity for him, and it’s nice that everything is grouped together in the same place,” says the father.

Football or canoeing, piano lessons or other fun activities, Morgan and Axel were able to find out about the timetables and prices offered. But they didn’t decide anything on the spot. “We’ll take stock at home with his mother before choosing,” confides Morgan.

Practical. The association fair continues on Sunday, September 8, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Place Châtelet and Butte des Charbonniers. Free.
