The Aiglons won on the Brest pitch this Saturday, during the 10th day of Ligue 1. Good move for the Gym.
Victory for Nice. After defeating Monaco in the Côte d'Azur derby last week, the Gym won in Brest (0-1) this Saturday, during the 10th day of Ligue 1. Goal from Guessand for the Aiglons, now fifth in the French championship rankings. Brest is 10th.
The Brestois, who will travel to the Sparta Prague pitch on Wednesday for their fourth Champions League meeting, were nevertheless well back in the match. Without their captain Brendan Chardonnet, left on the bench, but with a typical eleven for the rest, they made a big start.
Carried by the pressing of their trio in midfield, they were dangerous first. Pierre Lees-Melou even had the opportunity to make a successful start to the match, but the sentry did not press his right foot flat enough at the entrance to the area and Bulka was able to divert to his left (5th ). Apart from a too soft header from Ludovic Ajorque on a perfect serve from Kenny Lala (30th), the locals did not appear in the Nice half and it was on the contrary the visitors who took the upper hand.

Reaction from Brest after the break, but…
With a domination which increased over the minutes Mohamed-Ali Cho thought he gave his team the advantage (36th) on a recovery after a back cross from Ali Abdi, but the goal was finally canceled, Evann Guessand, in an offside position, having obstructed Marco Bizot's vision. It was only postponed since six minutes later, in an almost copy and paste, Abdi curled a magnificent low cross taken by Guessand at the far post, too easily left free by Soumaïla Coulibaly and Jordan Amavi (0 -1, 42nd).
The Brestois showed a much better face in the second period thanks to a surge driven by Lees-Melou as soon as they returned from the locker room. The Brest playmaker created two situations, a shot from a tight angle blocked by the Nice goalkeeper (46th) and a right-handed missile from outside the area which hit the left post of Marcin Bulka (51st) . But the domination of the Finistériens came up against the defensive solidity of the Niçois.
The last hopes were dashed when Ibrahim Salah, then Mahdi Camara missed the equalizer with a shot from the left at close range (75th). Stade Brestois missed the turning point which would have allowed it to get closer to the top of the standings, while Nice finally takes off.
