Each year, the promotion of Legion of Honor and National Order of Merit rewards personalities who marked their time through their dedication. According to Puissance television, for the January 2025 edition, a figure from the Meuse is among the winners.

This is the prefect of the Meuse, Xavier Delaruewho was promoted to Knight of the Legion of Honor, a distinction he obtained under the Ministry of the Interior.

In office since March 2023, Xavier Delarue has already been decorated with the National Order of Merit in 2016, and has to his credit over 27 years of servicegoing from the status of enlisted under the flag to the function of sub-prefect, advisor, then prefect. This time, it stands out in particular for the “Corps and careers” reform in the national police.

In total, these are 1,702 personalities who have been distinguished for their exceptional contributions to society, ranging from the reconstruction of Notre-Dame de to commitments in the sectors of economics, politics, and science.
