To start this day, head to Bardonecchia for the alpine skiing events. From 9:30 a.m., the women competed in the super combined (or alpine combined depending on preferences). Two French women won two places on the podium: Emy Charbonnier (1st place) and Louison Accambray (3rd). The French women also stood out during the alpine combined event, slalom version. A great morning for the French delegation which won a Gold and a Bronze medal!
At the same time, the men's and women's cross-country skiing events took place on the powder of Pragelato. Among the men, the first Gold medal was won by the Norwegian Olaf Martin Aaseru Talmo. Among the women, the Gold medal was won by the Polish Izabela Marcisz.
Return to Bardonecchia for the freeski events (dual moguls) for men and women. Among the women, the Bronze medal was awarded to the Japanese Ito Marin. It was Anastassya Gorodko (Kazakhstan), who already occupied first place during the event on January 14, who won the Gold medal. Among the men, the American Jackson Edward Crockett won the Bronze medal. The Gold medal was won by the Japanese Shima Kawaoka.
This Thursday, January 15 morning, a historic event took place in Pragelato. For the first time at the FISU Winter Games, a Paralympic discipline appeared: cross-country skiing. Among the women, the Gold medal was won by the German Leonie Maria Walter accompanied by her guide Emily Rose Weiss. For the men, it was the German Marco Maier who won the Gold medal.
This day was also punctuated by indoor events, notably Curling and Ice Hockey. No less than 5 Curling matches (men's round-robin tournament) and 6 ice hockey matches (men's and women's preliminary rounds) were held today. Among the women, the TPE (Chinese Taipei) team crushed the opposing team with a final score of 8 to 0 against England. The second women's match ended with Canada's victory.
Among the men, the teams of Czechia, Japan, Canada (after the shootout) each won their match. After 3 periods of domination (3-3, 1-2 and 1-0), Slovakia lost to the United States in the shootout with a final score of 6 to 5 for the USA.
As for the Curling results, the victorious teams are: Switzerland, Canada, Italy, Norway and the Republic of Korea. As a reminder, it was the men's teams who met today.
