The Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, which governs the sporting, technical and commercial rules of F1, has confirmed the official entry list for the 2025 Formula 1 world championship.
The biggest piece of information on this list is that the rumors about the future of Mexican driver Sergio Pérez, Max Verstappen’s 2024 teammate at Red Bull, are well-founded: the English team has not yet registered the one who says he has ‘a contract for next season as a starter for sure, if you read between the lines.
The reason is that despite his presence as #11 on the list, the name of Liam Lawson is missing, because the steering wheel currently assigned to the New Zealander, and before him by Daniel Ricciardo, at RB, is indicated as “TBC” (to be confirmed). The Red Bull team is leaving the world wondering about its plans for Sergio Pérez, who could be replaced by this one.
The Mexican insists he has a contract valid for 2025 and will be in his car, but his disastrous results in the second half of the season as well as the allusions made by Christian Horner, Helmut Marko and even Max Verstappen regarding the fact that Red Bull is considering a buyout of the Mexican driver’s contract suggests that surprises can still happen.
