Formula 1 | Ocon draws confidence from Alpine 's competitiveness in Qatar in 2023

Esteban Ocon wants to put his difficult race in Las Vegas behind him, while the Alpine driver saw his efforts spoiled by a botched pit stop by his team (the team was not ready).

At the finish but without a point, Ocon aims much better in Qatar this weekend, with a Sprint to energize everything.

“It was a tough race for the team last week in Las Vegas as we had issues in different areas throughout the weekend,” recalls the Frenchman.

“We had a good start, but an unfortunate mistake during our first pit stop set us back and we were unable to move up the standings to come away with points.”

“Las Vegas is always a complicated event for everyone between the weather and the schedules, so a big thank you to the team for working hard throughout the weekend. It just wasn't our day .”

“I'm looking forward to returning to Qatar. The conditions will be very different from what we just had in Las Vegas and the change in dates within the calendar should provide better conditions than in 2023.”

“As this is the last Sprint weekend of the year, every moment on track will count. The key will be to take full advantage of free practice on Friday to be ready for what comes next.”

“We had a good result last year, qualifying eighth and finishing the race seventh. So the aim will be to repeat that and try to fight for points in this penultimate round of the season.”
