A historic Grand Prix secures its place on the calendar until 2031!

Formula 1 keeps one of its jewels. After Monaco, whose contract was extended until 2031 a few days ago, announced the extension of the lease for the Italian Grand Prix, also until 2031.

The Autodromo Nazionale di Monza will remain on the calendar for many years to come. The Italian track, nestled a few kilometers from Milan, is an old one, present on the calendar since 1950. Along with Monaco, Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps, it is part of the circuits which were present during the first season in the history of F1 and also in 2024, 74 years later.

“I am delighted that the Italian Grand Prix will remain on the calendar until 2031. Monza is at the very heart of Formula 1 history and the atmosphere there is unique every year as the Tifosi come together in large numbers to encourage Ferrari and the drivers.” rejoices Stefano Domenicali, F1 boss and former Ferrari team director, with whom he was able to taste the fervor of the fans.

“Recent improvements to the circuit's infrastructure and planned investments demonstrate a strong commitment to the long-term future of Formula 1 in Italy. I would like to thank the president of the Automobile Club d’Italia, the Italian government and the Lombardy region for their continued passion and commitment to our sport.”

Monza, one of the birthplaces of Formula 1

The fervor of fans at Monza is all the more beautiful to see when a Ferrari wins, as Charles Leclerc achieved this season, five after his first success in 2019. There are five on the grid to have already won the Italian Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, Fernando Alonso and of course Pierre Gasly, heroic in 2020 at the wheel of an AlphaTauri (ex-Racing Bulls).

The Monza circuit, called the Temple of Speed as the fastest track on the calendar (264 km/h, average), will host a 75th Grand Prix in 75 years of Formula 1 on the weekend of September 3 to 5 , before – you understood – to thrill Italy and the whole world for another six years.
