At this time of year, most championships in motorsport are over. A time for pilots to get plenty of rest and strength before heading back into battle on the slopes. Active all year round, it is difficult for these men to remain passive without activity. On this occasion, the two new champions of the 2024 Formula 1 and WRC seasons met. Max Verstappen and Thierry Neuville faced each other on a padel court to discuss their season. Last weekend, the Dutchman claimed a fourth consecutive title at the wheel of a Red Bull that was far from dominant, compared to the last two campaigns. The Hasselt native equaled the number of titles of Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel.

As for his Belgian comrade, Neuville, the latter was finally able to realize his childhood dream, winning a WRC world championship. Arriving in Rally during the 2012 campaign, the Hyundai driver carried a heavy burden, the title of vice-champion, five times (2013, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2018). He therefore succeeds the young prodigy, Kalle Rovanperä, winner of the 2022 and 2023 editions. At the end of the last event of the World Rally Championship, in Japan, he was able to savor the feeling of being world champion.
