In the Brazilian rain, Max Verstappen set the record straight. Party of the 17e place after failed qualifying, the Dutchman recovered to win his eighth Grand Prix of the season at Interlagos. He also took advantage of the errors of Lando Norris (McLaren), only 6e in Brazil, to widen the gap in the drivers' world championship. With a 62-point lead with three rounds remaining in the season, Verstappen can be crowned at the Las Vegas GP (November 24). With these three rounds still on the menu, as well as a sprint race (Qatar, December 1), a total of 86 points remain to be distributed.
