Launched in April 2023, McLaren's junior program wasted no time in attracting Bortoleto. The Brazilian became a member of the sector six months later, coached by former driver Emanuele Pirro. But as much as the British team believed in him, they had no place in F1 to promise him in the medium term. Among the big guys, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri give guarantees. They are aiming to win the race, and even the title, and are contractually committed for several more seasons.
