Towards a third French driver on the F1 starting grids in 2025

The 2025 Formula 1 world championship season could see three French drivers lined up on the Grand Prix starting grids.

Liam Lawson now seems the favorite to take up a starting driver position at Red Bull Racing from the 2025 season, which could suit Frenchman Isack Hadjar.

While rumors persist around the future of Sergio Pérez, several options are emerging to replace him in the Austrian team against Max Verstappen. Among the potential candidates, Lawson stood out thanks to his performances, and his name comes up more and more frequently as a strategic choice for Red Bull.

Isack Hadjar in the race for a starting role

If Pérez were to be sidelined for the 2025 season, Isack Hadjar could also join Red Bull next season within the Racing Bulls team.

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko suggested in Sao Paulo that Hadjar would be evaluated intensively during the end-of-season test in Abu Dhabi. These tests will be crucial to determine if he is ready for Formula 1. Indeed, Hadjar's potential seems to interest Red Bull, who could consider him as a serious option from 2025.

Marko stressed that these tests in Abu Dhabi would allow several drivers to be evaluated for possible promotion. According to him, the final decision will take into account Hadjar's performance and that of other promising drivers.

Marko convinced by Hadjar's skills

Asked about Isack Hadjar's ability to integrate into Formula 1, Helmut Marko did not hesitate to express his confidence.

“Yes, absolutely. He was faster than Franco Colapinto in all junior categories” he declared.

This comparison with Colapinto, another young talent, serves to highlight Hadjar's potential and his progression through the junior ranks. Red Bull therefore seems to have great confidence in its development.

Red Bull and its strategy for 2025

The integration of young talents has become a central strategy for Red Bull, which aims to renew its team with new talents capable of competing at the highest level. Lawson and Hadjar appear as serious options for the Austrian team, but the final choice will depend on performance during the next tests and the team's strategic decisions.
