F1: an Indiana Jones livery for the Alpine in Austin

After riding in the colors of Deadpool & Wolverine at the Belgian Grand Prix, Alpine presented a new special livery dedicated to Indiana Jones for the United States Grand Prix which will take place this weekend in Austin, Texas. What to regret all the more that Formula 1 no longer races at Indy, it would have even been more fitting.

Nothing to do with the films of Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford, at least not directly: it seems that the adventurer in the felt hat is preparing to make his comeback in a video game, Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle. Circle which therefore has nothing to do with the Indianapolis oval, sniff.

According to Alpine, “the A524 will feature a sunset orange livery, inspired by the franchise’s iconic logo with details such as an old map and red travel routes as seen in the film series.” It may be a little lacking in snakes but otherwise, why not, even if the employees of Viry-Châtillon would surely have preferred a yellow and black livery to complete the circle.

The problem is that the Alpine of Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon now looks like two drops of octane to the McLaren of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. And unlike the British single-seater, on the verge of winning the constructors’ championship, the A524’s place is not in a museum, with its 13 small points and its penultimate place in the standings at the time when we let’s write these lines.

But let’s not rub salt in the wound: we’ll just have to stay focused when one takes its turn at the other. We think of Willie Scott in The Cursed Temple : “We are not sinking, we are crashing!” »

Fortunately, Alpine consoles us at the Motor Show with a fireworks display of new products and concept cars.
