Author of an eighth and tenth place at the finish of the sprint and main races, Jack Miller found himself in difficulty with his KTM. The rear tires from the manufacturer Michelin posed problems for the Austrian manufacturer. Tire vibrations have disrupted the Australian’s riding since MotoGP began touring overseas. However, the genius Pedro Acosta managed to take pole position on the Motegi track aboard the RC16. But unfortunately, the native of Mazarron did not have the chance to win following his mistakes made during the weekend’s events. Over the entire meeting, “Thriller” pocketed a total of eleven points. Despite having scored two top tens, the Australian driver was the victim of capricious behavior from his machine.

Jack Miller’s reaction after the Japanese GP

From the first free practice sessions, Jack Miller noticed problems with his entry speed into the corners. His bike stalled several times, preventing him from setting a good time. As a reminder, the latter is experiencing his last races with the KTM brand. The Australian signed with Pramac Yamaha from the 2025 MotoGP season.

“I had trouble with the chatter, vibrations. When I was trying to keep up speed [virage] 3, as soon as I reached the rope, the bike said ‘no more’. This is something that happens all the time these days. I’m trying to find a fucking way around this, but I can’t find a solution. I was just trying to keep a little more speed, so I was trying not to accelerate as hard going out wide, and I wasn’t very fast. It saddens me because the same problems persist and I can’t fix them. When you keep banging your head against the walls, you look for a solution. This has been my life for ten months, we haven’t been able to correct it. It’s very good to see in slow motion because at normal speed you don’t notice it. The swingarm is very stressed. It’s very good to see it clearly in slow motion for the engineers. I’m not inventing this bullshit, I’ve been doing it for ten months, since we got this tire, and I haven’t found a solution, as you saw. The solution is to try to deal with it, but it’s like continuing to bang your head against a wall. […] We have made yet another radical change in the balance of the bike [samedi] and that seems to calm her down a little, but it was still there in the last sector, in the double left. We have a little difficulty with the speed in the middle of the curve and when exiting the corner. The front is stable and has been good all race, but we still have work to do.”
