After the success against Real, LOSC confirms its rebound against Toulouse (2-1)

LOSC concludes its great week in the best possible way. After winning (1-0) against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday, confirmed its good form by winning 2-1 against at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. This victory allows the Mastiffs to temporarily climb to 4th place in the Ligue 1 standings.

Bruno Genesio and his men were smiling this Saturday evening when the final whistle sounded, synonymous with their third consecutive victory in all competitions. And this was totally justified, as Lille had difficulty getting out of a Toulouse team, although in difficulty in the championship, and despite everything dangerous at certain moments.

Aboukhlal had opened his meter

The ball was, most of the time, at Lille’s feet in this match (57%). However, hot chances have struggled to keep up with the statistics for a long time for the Northerners. Silent during the first period, the Mastiffs left the best opportunities of the first 45 minutes to the visitors. Zakaria Aboukhlal took the opportunity to score the first goal of the match, allowing the ball to barely cross the line, despite the reflex save from Lucas Chevalier (39th, 0-1).

More dynamic after returning from the locker room, the Mastiffs showed themselves to be more and more dangerous, to the point of incredible inspiration. Angel Gomes relied on Osame Sahraoui to deliver a decisive pass over the defense, before finishing with a well-placed volley (57th, 1-1).

Despite a few unsuccessful attempts from Toulouse, Lille continued to push, before taking the advantage after a very long suspense. Sent deep after magnificent work from Ayyoub Bouaddi, Mitchell Bakker managed to crucify Guillaume Restes following a superb lob, before the goal was first canceled for offside. After discussions between Clément Turpin and the 4th referee, the goal was almost canceled for a foul at the start of the action, before ultimately being confirmed (72nd, 2-1).

Jostled during the last 20 minutes, the Mastiffs managed to maintain the score, and thus achieve a third consecutive victory, in just seven days. LOSC goes 4th and finds itself one point behind OM. Toulouse remains 16th with five small points.
