The organizers of The Women's Tour announced this Monday that the city of Barcelona will host the official start of the race on Sunday May 4. After Torrevieja in 2023 and Valencia in 2024, the Catalan capital will be the starting point for the third edition of the event, once again offering a start with Mediterranean flavors. The streets of Barcelona will once again become the epicenter of world cycling, just two years after being the scene of the launch of The Return 2023. Thus, Barcelona reaffirms its commitment to becoming a benchmark in the organization of sporting events. The city is also preparing to receive for the first time in its history the great departure of the Tour de France in 2026.

Demi Vollering won the 2024 edition
Last year, the Dutch Demi Vollering (former Team SD Worx, now FDJ-SUEZ) won the race, ahead of her compatriot Riejanne Markus (former Visma | Lease a Bike, now Lidl-Trek) and the Italian Elisa Longo Borghini (former Lidl-Trek, now UAE Team ADQ). She also won two stage victories there, as well as the ranking of best climber. She has not yet announced whether she will compete in the 2025 edition, although as the titleholder it is likely she would like to defend her title.
