This Wednesday, January 8, the Groupama-FDJ team launched its 2025 season at the headquarters of its title partner FDJ. Under the leadership of Marc Madiot, this event highlights the ambitions for the year to come. With the arrival of Guillaume Martin, Groupama-FDJ has an additional advantage to compete in the general classifications of the Grand . David Gaudu and Normand will thus be the two leaders for the general classification of the Tour de . This new configuration will allow the Breton to discover the Giro for the first time, while Guillaume Martin will turn towards the Vuelta.

“This season marks a new beginning, accompanied by new ambitions. I want to discover the Giro and play the leading roles. The Tour de France will be a different experience, particularly in the approach following the Giro and also, because we will take the Breton roads dear to my heart. »

With Valentin Madouas and Romain Grégoire as leaders, Groupama-FDJ will try to shine in the biggest races on the punchers’ calendar. In 2025, we will find the duo on the Strade Bianche, Tirreno Adriatico, the Ardennaises and the Tour de France.

“Last season was full of highlights. I got my first WorldTour victory, but I also often came close to throwing up my arms. I am starting 2025 with the same motivation and determination as in 2024. I know that, this year, it will not only be enough to be strong, I will also have to refine my tactics to win races. My main objective is my second participation in the Tour de France, where I intend to shine and leave my mark.”

Sprinting is an essential strategic axis that Groupama-FDJ will endeavor to develop in 2025 with the return of Paul Penhoët to the highest level. He went through a lot of difficulties last year with a knee injury at the start of the season before returning to a very good level at the end of the year.
