Mercato: Rashford sweeps away three XXL offers from Saudi Arabia

Sidelined by Ruben Amorim, Marcus Rashford could well see himself leaving Manchester United during this winter transfer window. But not to go anywhere, knowing that the English striker has just refused XXL offers from Saudi Arabia.

Manchester United's co-top scorer in the Premier League this season with four goals, Marcus Rashford is no longer in MU's typical team. In recent weeks, the English striker has even been sidelined by Ruben Amorim, who has not played him since mid-December. Suffice to say that Rashford is seriously considering leaving United during this transfer market, especially since its leaders are ready to let him leave in the event of a good offer. On December 17, Rashford also mentioned a possible winter escape: “I think I’m ready to take on a new challenge. The day I leave, it will be without hard feelings. I will not make any negative comments about Manchester United”. Except that for now, the 27-year-old is still with the Red Devils, while he recently received three huge offers from Saudi Arabia. According to the Manchester Evening News, the clubs Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli and Al-Qadsiah have indeed tried their chances with Rashford, notably with a colossal offer accompanied by an annual salary of 40 million euros per year. But the MU striker politely refused, like all approaches from Türkiye.

Rashford says no to Saudi Arabia

A decision which may surprise, because few players would have refused such a golden bridge, but Rashford wants to stay in a competitive championship, like in the Premier League, with the objective of returning to the English selection. Freshly taken over by Thomas Tuchel, the Three Lions have been moving forward without Rashford since last March. Not selected for the last Euro, the man with 60 caps wants to regain his place for the 2026 World Cup. It is therefore with a certain requirement that Rashford will choose his next club. Except that for the moment, it is not attracting major European clubs, notably due to a salary considered too high (1.5 ME per month). Under contract with United until 2028, Rashford therefore hopes to find a good way out in January, perhaps in the form of a loan. But if his quest for a new challenge does not succeed, the Englishman will do everything to regain the trust of Amorim while his long-time club is going through a very complicated season…
