The organizers of the Tour d’Algarve announced this Tuesday the presence of two additional WorldTour teams. Indeed, INEOS Grenadiers et Intermarché-Wanty will be present in Portugal at the beginning of February. The British team is a regular at the event, having participated since then “Team Sky”. The British team won 12 stages of the Return to the Algarvea race in which she will participate for the 14th time. The last triumph of Thomas Pidcock took place in 2023, at the top of Malhão, where Michal Kwiatkowski (2018), Richie Porte (2012 et 2015), Sergio Henao (2013) et Stephen Cummings (2011) also won for the British team. Intermarché-Wanty will participate for the 11th time in the Volta ao Algarve. The Belgians have grown in the international peloton in parallel with the growth of the race and have a success in the event, in 2024.

Already seven teams announced

The 2025 edition of Algarve Tourthe 51st in history, will take place from February 19 to 23. The first seven teams entered have been announced, including five WorldTour teams. After the regulars Alpecin-Deceuninck, EF Education-EasyPost, Groupama-FDJ et Team dsm-firmenich PostNLthese are two new heads which were recently revealed, namely the Bahrain Victorious and the Lotto. Finally, the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA will be there for the 15th consecutive year. The rest of the team roster will be revealed over the coming weeks.
