Victory, podiums and places of honor for the Vellave club the day after the Cournon d'Auvergne cyclo-cross, on the attractive site of the leisure park.
The Fink brothers do it again
Marin Fink U7 (Pre-licensed) climbs onto the second step of the podium after the seven minutes of racing imposed on the 7 competitors.
In U13, his big brother Alban didn't amuse the gallery by flying away from the first pedal strokes. Our talented youngest child shows skill and resistance. He stands out largely detached from the 29 starters.
Lysandre Schatz and Elio Arnaud inseparable
Within the dense U15 (Minimes) peloton of thirty-seven competitors, Lysandre for once on the front line opened the way for his teammate. Author of a very good start, he remained in the leading group throughout the twenty-one minute effort. Elio gradually moves up from seventh place to once again scold his friend who will remain in the running. The positions now established, they finished superbly 4th and 5th, thus signifying the enormous progress made during the last events which gives hope for future top 3s.
Antoine Bonnaud again runner-up
Among the twenty-three U17s (Cadets), it was a quartet which led the debates. Second at the first turn Antoine takes the lead at the start of the next loop. Then, at a disadvantage against the mountain bikes during the multiple passages of the double board which forced him to violent restarts, he gave up a little ground and alternated between second or third position. About ten minutes from the end, Alexis Bizouerne the Brivadois runner takes a few steps ahead and will never be caught. Behind Antoine third fights a very close duel, but finds the resources in the last hectometers to seize second position. His comrade Jules Fray, taking on his first cyclo-cross, arrives at the end of the 37 minutes of racing, gaining experience for his next competitions in this discipline.
In the U19 (Juniors) category, it is an untouchable leading duo who quickly stand out in front of twenty other contenders. At the rear, Léo Jouve, seventh at the first turn, adjusts his pace and maintains this same position when crossing the finish line.
Cyril Arnaud, victim of a fall in front of him on the first hundred meters of the Open-Access event, suffered damage because of a tape which got tangled in his derailleur. Delayed for a long time, he left without being able to defend his chances but continued until the end of the event.
